Convergences: Climate Change, Health, Litigation

Convergences Poster

November 9, 2023 @ 5:00 pm 6:30 pm

Location: Space Telescope Science Institute Auditorium

3700 San Martin Drive

2022 has been the year of the greatest number of legal cases relating to climate. These cases range from efforts to prevent the expansion of fossil fuel and petrochemical extraction to challenges to government for their continued inaction in regulating companies and holding them accountable.  Notable among these legal actions is the 2021 case won by Friends of the Earth Netherlands (Milieudefensie) against Shell in the International Court of Justice to reduce its emissions by 45% within 10 years.

This panel discussion at Johns Hopkins University brings Donald Pols, head of Milieudefensie, together with experts on climate litigation, policy, and health to discuss convergences among these domains to forge meaningful climate action towards protecting our world.

All are encouraged to be part of this urgent conversation.
